Lessons with Anna

Join me for innovative music lessons!

I have been a teacher for most of the past 20 years. I began by teaching group music classes at the Experience Music Project in Seattle (the one shaped like Jimmy Hendrix’s guitar!) in 2007, taught voice at Cornell University for 10 years, and have run a private studio for most of the last 15 years. I teach mostly voice, but also guitar, songwriting, DIY touring, and I even give English lessons. Most recently I began working as an American accent coach! Since COVID and my relocation to the Netherlands in 2020, I teach online all over the world, and will soon be opening my doors for in-person lessons in Zwolle, NL and across the Netherlands.

Why lessons with Anna?

Good question! I have had a very unusual path through music (and life!) since I began studying voice somewhere around 1996. I have studied opera singing at Das Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, toured around the world as a singer-songwriter, played guitar in several bands, studied five languages, and produced several records. I am now studying Physical Therapy at the Utrecht University of applied sciences in Utrecht, NL. Getting an in-depth understanding of human anatomy and pathologies is thrilling and helping me help people reach their vocal goals in a new way. I work with all styles of singing and believe that each voice has the potential to safely make a lot of different tones, depending on your goals.

My students have done amazing things including performing on the Voice, hitting several million hits on youtube, winning college scholarships, releasing records, and overcoming years of stage fright to perform live.

I’d like to take lessons!
