Tour Update #3

Good morning loves (pronounced “Louves” here in Yorkshire)

It is a rainy, rainy, rainy day here in England, and we are getting ready to head to Cottingham before we head to Ireland tomorrow. (Where it will most likely be even more rainy, if that is even possible.) I got to take a bath in a clawfoot tub this morning- the first bath the whole tour- in an old sanitarium for hysterical women. I fit the description well a lot of the time, so it was quite fitting. Played a gig in the sanitarium last night (which is now been converted into stunning apartments), which adds “insane asylum” to my already strange list of places I have played- funeral home, prison, churches, huge theaters, tiny living rooms……

It has been such a wonderful week- I can’t believe it’s only been a week– with shows in London, Milton Keynes, Wombwell, Barnsley, Letwel, and Sheffield. Non-show highlights so far have been: seeing my dad at Milton Keynes and getting to (finally) perform the “Crucifixion” for him live, excellent meals on almost all days, and of course my very favorite food combo: cheese, mayonaise, onions, and pickle.) (Does anyone notice how much I like food??) Touring mate Daniele and tour manager Hedley Jones and true joys to be around. How did I get so lucky??

2 more weeks from today, with lot’s of excitement yet to come. It’s funny when you’re on tour, time speeds by and crawls at the same time. I feel like I’ve been out forever, I feel like it’s only been a few days. I miss my home, but I love the never ending excitement of being on the road. I miss my dog and husband like a great big hole in my heart, but I love speaking bad Italian and drinking wine and playing music every night.

Balance, I guess.
